Please start in Windows 8 / 8.1 the Internet Explorer 10 or 11 in Desktop-Mode. To start the Internet-Explorer in Desktop-Mode, use the shortcut Windows+R and the command iexplore (... see Image-1 Arrow-1)!
In MS-IE please click on the Settings Symbol (... see Image-1 Arrow-2) and select the option 'Internet Options' (... see Image-1 Arrow-3)!
In the Internet Options of the Internet Explorer 10/11, simply activate the tab 'Advanced' (... see Image-1 Arrow-4) , then just scroll down to the option 'Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser'
And enable (check) this option (... see Image-1 Arrow-5)
After restarting the Windows Internet Explorer get the message whether it should be used as the default browser. If you answer this with yes, the MS IE 11 and IE 10 is again the default browser in Windows 8 or 8.1.

In this tutorial, we will be demonstrating how to deploy Internet Explorer 11 to your machines using Goverlan Scope Actions.

We’ll start by opening an Internet Explorer browser window. Next, we need to click on “Tools” in the top menu bar and select “Internet Options“. Select the “Security” tab. Internet Explorer 10 / 11 in Windows 8 / 8.1: 32-bit or 64-bit, app or desktop. Internet Explorer reflects the two faces of Windows 8 more than no other application. It exists as an app for the modern interface and as a conventional desktop application. Furthermore, you can run it as a 32-bit and a 64-bit edition.

Internet Explorer 11 comes pre-built into Windows 10 and 8.1. For Windows 8 users, you must update to Windows 8.1 in order to get IE 11. For Windows 7, you must download the IE 11 EXE file via the Microsoft Site.

After selecting your Scope of machines as described in the above video, you will need to create an Action Module with the following Action: Execute Computer Action > Software Products > Install Software Package.

How Can I Install Internet Explorer 11

The Set Arguments window will appear, click on the ‘…’ button > Manage.

You’ll then arrive at the Goverlan Objects Manager, proceed to click on the + button > Setup Executable Package.

Note:

For this installation to complete successfully, a reboot will be needed. By default the exe will automatically reboot the machine after installation completion or you may specify the /norestart argument string. For a more controlled deployment, use Goverlan’s restart actions in your Scope Action.

After configuring your package and exiting the Goverlan Package Manager, it’ll now appear in the Installation package list for you to select:
